Dr. Frank Carrano's career has experienced its fair share of twists and turns. He grew up on a small farm, began college as a physics major, changed majors before grad school, changed universities, and even accepted a job before switching back to a career he ended up retiring in: computer science. Life's certainly full of surprises, especially if you're the one creating them.
Frank M. Carrano is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at the University of Rhode Island. His interests include data structures and social issues in computing, as well as the design and delivery of undergraduate computer sciences courses. He has authored several online courses and well-known textbooks. Carrano has a Ph.D. in computer science from Syracuse University.
